Assets Under Management (AUM)

Assets under management (AUM) is the total market value of investments that a financial institution or other entity manages for its clients. It is a key performance indicator for a financial institution and is used to evaluate its success and growth potential. AUM is calculated by adding up the market value of all the investments managed by a firm, fund, or individual. It can include bank deposits, mutual funds, and cash.
