Brian Alexander

Chief Financial Officer

Brian Alexander joined Comply as the Chief Financial Officer in July 2025. In this role, he is responsible for driving strategic financial decisions, overseeing accounting and controllership, financial planning and analysis, companywide metrics and reporting, and mergers and acquisitions.

Brian is an accomplished finance and operations executive with a passion for working in fast-paced software and technology growth companies with dynamic and innovative cultures. Over his 30+ years of experience, Brian has focused on being a trusted advisor and strategic business partner working with all key decision makers to scale the companies he has worked for through organic growth and strategic M&A.

Prior to Comply, Brian was Chief Financial Officer at Kipu Health, a leading behavioral health software and technology platform company, where he implemented numerous operational and reporting improvements, established collaborative strategic and operational multi-year planning processes, built cross-functional partnerships throughout the organization that led to actionable insights focused on sustainable growth and improved financial performance.

Previously, Brian held numerous senior executive positions with increasing responsibility which include being Senior Vice President of Finance and Corporate Development at Diligent Corporation, a leading GRC software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform company providing governance, risk, and compliance solutions. While at Diligent, he led the FP&A, Corporate Development and Integration Operations teams through a period of substantial growth. Prior to Diligent, Brian was Chief Financial Officer at BoardEffect, a board management software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform built for mission-driven organizations. While at BoardEffect, Brian led them through a successful exit and acquisition by Diligent Corporation. Prior to BoardEffect, Brian was Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis at Blackboard, Inc. (combined with Anthology), a leading provider of enterprise software applications and related services to the global education industry. While at Blackboard, Brian was involved in the IPO process, led FP&A activities through organic growth and multiple M&A transactions, played a key role in the quarterly guidance process while a public company for 7+ years, and subsequent sale process to private equity. Brian started his career at MCI Telecommunications (acquired by Verizon) where he held a variety of Finance and Accounting roles during the dynamic years of change and consolidation in telecommunications with dramatic shifts in the emerging wireless and global communications revolution.

Brian holds a BS in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive) in the state of Virginia. He lives in Vienna, VA with his wife and has two adult children who also live in the Washington, DC area.
